It knows the games.
Thirteen formats and eight side games, each with the rules in plain English. Trying Wolf for the first time is a tap, not a debate.
Why Picnic
Thirteen formats and eight side games, each with the rules in plain English. Trying Wolf for the first time is a tap, not a debate.
Strokes land on the right holes at the right allowance for the game. Carryovers, presses and points update as you tap, and the round ends in one netted settle-up.
Text a link before you tee off. The rest of the group, the cart behind you and the people at the bar watch the board update. No app and no account needed to watch.
How it works

Names and handicaps for up to five golfers. Save your usual foursome once and it is ready next time.

Search the course and Picnic loads the real scorecard. Choose a game, add side games, set the stakes if you play for them.

One phone, hole by hole. Picnic applies strokes and keeps every game straight as you go.

Send the live link. Walk off 18 with one board and one settle-up.
Games
Every game comes with a short sheet: who plays, how it works, how it scores. Pick it, read it out loud, play. Thirteen formats, eight side games you can stack on top.

Handicaps
Enter each player's handicap once. Picnic gives strokes where the card says, at the allowance the game calls for, and shows net beside gross on every hole. Nobody does math on the tee box.

Follow along
The board updates as you score, on any phone, in any browser. No app, no account. Money stays hidden on the shared board unless you choose to show it.

Courses
Type a few letters and Picnic pulls the scorecard: tees, par, yardage and stroke index. Saved courses work offline. If your muni is missing, type the card in yourself and it is saved for next time.

Settle up
Games and side games net out to one number per player. Picnic keeps the tally; your group handles the money however you like.

The games
Pick one format for the round, stack any side games you like, and it is all one card and one settle-up.
Formats
Stroke Play: Add up every stroke. Lowest total wins. Teams or individual.
Stableford: Earn points per hole. Highest total wins. Teams or individual.
Match Play: Win holes, not strokes. Head to head or teams.
Best Ball: Two teams. The best score on each team counts.
Nassau: Three matches: front, back, and the 18. Each one settles on its own.
Vegas: Join the two scores into a number. Lower wins the difference.
Sixes: New partner every six holes. Three 2v2 matches. Everyone partners everyone.
Quota: Beat your points target. Furthest over quota wins.
Skins: Win a hole outright. Ties carry over.
Nines: 5-3-1 points every hole. Built for three.
Wolf: Rotate as the wolf. Pick a partner or go alone.
Acey-Deucey: Low score collects. High score pays. Every hole.
Scramble: Everyone hits, play the best ball. One team score.
Side games
Skins: Win a hole outright. Ties carry over.
Junk: Greenies, sandies, chip-ins. Also called dots.
Snake: Three-putt and you hold the snake.
Acey-Deucey: Low score collects, high score pays.
Rabbit: Hold it at the turn and the house to get paid.
Bogey Tax: Bogeys and worse pay into a pot.
Low Putts: Fewest putts for the round.
Birdie Bounty: Birdie or better and everyone pays you.
Skins and Acey-Deucey can be the whole game or a side game.
Picnic was built by a golfer who kept hearing about games he had never played. Wolf sounded fun. So did Vegas. Learning a game on the first tee and tracking it on the back of a scorecard meant someone got the math wrong by the turn.
